Kashmiri Editions – Cultural Shawls Beyond Convention

Kashmiri Editions is not a collection in the traditional sense – it is a space of possibility. A quiet stage for shawls that resist categorisation, formats that honour cultural identity, and creations that arise from particular needs, rituals or traditions.

Where most collections follow a defined rhythm – by material, technique, or format – the Kashmiri Edition exists outside that structure. It begins with two foundational forms: the massar, a traditional men’s shawl of dignified elegance, and the shayla, a flowing scarf often worn across the Arab world. Both are woven from the finest cashmere fibres, honouring their heritage while elevating them through discreet refinement.

But the Kashmiri Edition does not end there. It is a living collection, shaped by observation, by commission, and by quiet experimentation. Some pieces may be rooted in history, others in individual stories. Some may serve ceremonial purposes, others reinterpret a familiar silhouette through rare material or technique. What they share is a certain distinctiveness – an integrity that makes them impossible to place elsewhere within our catalogue.

Kani and Sozni shawls, Nepali Essence pieces, or Double Face designs each follow their own curated path – but the Kashmiri Edition is where the undefined finds a place. A shawl too specific in form, too rare in function, or too rooted in identity may well belong here.

vonoz has long stood for a kind of cashmere that is not defined by trends, but by meaning. The Kashmiri Edition reflects that ethos – not as a showcase, but as a gathering place. For now, it is a small and thoughtful selection. In time, it may evolve – subtly, deliberately, and always in dialogue with those who seek more than just a shawl.

We invite you to revisit this space occasionally. Not everything here will be permanent. But what appears will always have a reason to exist.
